Hi, regarding engine oil and have used Shell helix before my thoughts are that shell doesn’t do for me what engine oils are designed to do.

The FL2 engine has hydraulic tappets so it's essential to use the correct viscosity oil, which is 5w30. If you get noisy tappets with this spec. oil it may indicate damage or wear to the tappets/rockers or to the oil pump (= low oil pressure). Has the oil level in the engine been allowed to get excessively low at any point? This could cause this type of damage. |

Davyboy's FL2 is 2009, so does not have a DPF and therefore does not need the C1 spec oil.

Me too used them for a while also used their ATF3309 auto box fluid for dump n fill procedure also did a friends FL2 a couple of years ago no problems I think they have been going since the 1920,s
