This was, i seem to remember, a common issue on earlier cars. There was a modification I think.

Thanks for that, so it seems they changed the design after 2010?
Does anyone know where these can be obtained at a reasonable price?
In the meantime I was thinking of trying some edging protector as a temporary fix.

It suggest that the modification was carried out by dealers rather than owners... Whether or not the parts were generally available to purchase???

Cause: The safety belt contacts the B-Pillar trim during normal use causing wear.

Service Instruction
Inspect the front safety belt part number (located on the label attached to the webbing at
seat anchor point).
NAS vehicles: RH side front safety belt - 6G9N-61294-DHW
ROW vehicles: RH side front safety belt - 6G9N-61294-BGW
All vehicles: LH side front safety belt � 6G9N-61295-CGW

Replace both front safety belts and upper B-Pillar trim panels if they are earlier than the
part numbers above. If the safety belts are the same or later than the part numbers above,
