FL1 and FL2 3 door hybrid

I always wished JLR had made a 3 door FL2.
Came across this on eBay. Freelander 1 with F2 body panels grafted to it. Shame it's not a Freelander 2 with a 2 door conversion.

I'd like the F1 one rear door on my F2 so i had somewhere to put the spare tyre. Common sense isn't very common.

Axle, there was a member here who had the spare wheel on the back, but alas still hinged at top. But what we all wanted was that rear window to go up'n'down on our FL2

In my view, this is the FL2 that should have been built.

Yep, that looks exactly like what I would want - it's a travesty JLR never did a 3 door. But then again, most F2 owners are middle aged and boring Whistle so I suppose it wouldn't have sold in big enough numbers.
Here's a 3 door hard top rendering from years ago I found on the net. A little too square and clunky - the C pillar needs more of a rake to it methinks.

That is surprisingly tidy! I like it, and I really didn't expect to.

I bought my FL2 because I've wanted a classic Range Rover since the early 1970s (when I was little kid), but have never had the matrix of cost/availability/income come close to matching up. I figure the FL2 is broadly the same size, and still a Land Rover product, so it's close enough for now. Very Happy 2010 HSE TD4 Lago Grey

Yes, but the i6 sold in volume in places like the USA, so the market was there to produce it.
The 3 door Evoque was dropped from the line-up due to failing sales. Even the traditional hot hatches such as the Golf GTI and Ford Focus ST are all 5 door now.

Nice! Wonder if they do an Ifor canopy for it Laughing I knew someone that made a pick-up from a LWB frontera, looked like it was always meant to be. There are a couple of professionally converted disco Td5 pick-ups around my way that also look nice.

There was a fiberglass kit which turned your Disco 2 into a pick up.

Lightwater may show a production unit made under licence in OZ ??

Falling well into this bracket, I can't see any advantages of the three door model, ( though I really like the look) unless your throwing three sheep in the back and going for a night out!
