The Freelander 2 is amazingly capable off road for sure but id not like to get mine so mucky, it would be a nightmare to get properly clean. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Beware some quarries have very fine git in the water and can act as grinding paste to suspension parts.

Yes you need to clean it of before it does damage.

I once passed a row of Suzuki jeeps all steaming on the hard shoulder of the M1. They had all clearly been out mudplugging but I think that they had neglected to wash the mud out of their radiators before hitting the motorway ; and had overheated as a result. Jules

I went to a site at Borden in Hampshire, think the army uses it, that was some nasty suspended in water, sets like concrete silty type mud. Killed my starter motor and alternator and think there was some still stuck to the car when I sold it a couple of years later Laughing

Yes Borden is/was a military site, we used to
use this site back in the 80s with the AWDC,
it's much simular to the Bovington site in Dorset
you really do need to clean that crud off. if not you'll
soon regret it.
