Air Pollution sensor

Hello, has anyone replaced one of these ? I believe they are inside under the dash t the rear of the heater air intake unit but looks impossible to get at. I have error code B102E 09 indicating faulty sensor. Dont want to take the dash out and hoping there might be an easy way ??? Thanks

Indeed it's below dash, somehow above air filter.
Pretty easy to get at on the LHD cars... Very Happy

It’s easy to get to but being double jointed would be a benefit 😂
Just above recirculate air cage up against firewall but you’ll need to remove glove box and vent air conduit to gain easier access. MY15

Hello Guys,

Just a quick clarification. My car is right hand drive and only information according to my workshop manual for the ambient air quality sensor is located in the picture below. Is this sensor the same as pollution sensor ? I run a search with " Freelander 2 ambient air quality sensor" and its coming up with LR062632 which is same number for the pollution sensor. can anyone confirm if its the same part number please ?

Many thanks.

It looks like the "L" shaped thing in Alex's post - so I'm guessing its the same.

pollution = air quality Jules

Might be about to go on this journey myself. I've getting an intermittent fault on that sensor. Coincidentally the HVAC stepper motors go bonkers from time to time and cycle back and forth between recirc and fresh air so seems to be connected.

Previous owner has fitted every LED known to man, including in the main beam Rolling Eyes giving a beautiful bright blue/white light that illuminates about 3ft in front of the car. They're getting replaced with some Osram's when they turn up in the post this afternoon. The sidelight LEDs remain very dimly lit whenever the car is "awake" on unlocking and after closing down. There's LED's in the number plates, in the mirror puddle lights (I also have a fault showing on each door module, probably not a coincidence)

I wonder if the sensor really is faulty, or if I need to start stripping out the LEDs to see if that clears the code and the HVAC going bonkers. Current driveway contents:

Hello

I can confirm its located near the blower fan and can be accessible through the glove compartment ( UK Model/RHD). Take off the glove compartment and will be visible and accessible.

Good luck. Regards,
Germplus.
