19 is the bling for 2009! Speaking of which, anyone got a 19" tyre for me yet? Laughing

More likely to scratch your 19" blings when off roading Laughing better to use 16" for offing and the 18"-19" for town tarting only Whistle

I agree Andy - or why not be a cheap tart like me and stick with the 17's - size isn't everything - ask the other half!! Laughing Gone - TD4 XS Auto, Sumatra Black, Mud flaps and side strips, clear indicators, private plate, privacy glass

Well-done CG. I have been thinking of buying some 18 inch HSE wheels myself. You got a good buy. Did you have to pay any extra on your insurance as the vehicle has now been modified? I hope not, as I got a speeding ticket last year and that put my insurance up. Yes I know CG, a caravanner with a speeding ticket. (That must be a First).

Do I fit the wheels now and sell the old ones with loads of tread or wait until they are down to the limit and then swap them ?
Or keep the olds to refit on the car when selling?

Choices choices, what is a farmer to do? Confused At work

Might as well keep them as nobody will want to buy the old ones Laughing

Seriously - why not put some decent winter tyres on the old wheels or alteratively some good off road rubber for fun days in the forest Question 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

If it was for off-roading, I'd sell the olds and buy a set of 16's and still have some change, but in reality I'm too lazy to change the wheels round very often At work

If your gonna swap, do it now. Since your paying for them anyway, you might as well enjoy them instead of the next owner.

If you're not putting any other tyres on them for offroading or winter, keep them for the car control. I don't know if you have that in Britain but in Belgium once a car is older then 4 years you have to get it officially checked for safety and environmental health. Without that document your insurance is invalid, even if you have one, and you can get fined for it.

Tyres are always checked.

There is also a surplus cost if your car is "tuned", which also needs official documents.

In my current car I have a custom gear knob and a spoiler on the boot which costs me about 10 euros more. In my opinion that robbery but what can you do... If you changed the rimms and lowerd your car or stuff like that, the car actually changes somewhat in its riding abilities, but a pocker and a spoiler...

Anyway, I'm planning to put on some custom rimms myself and will keep the originals to go to the checkup once the car is +4 years. In the mean time I will probably use them in winter to keep the rimms crisp and once they are worn put some winters on them.

That's what I'd do.

Its the ball you place your right (left for UK) hand on to shift gears.
PS: If it hurts when you try to screw it off, you got the wrong ball in your hand. Mr. Green

Don't know the correct english word for it.
