Farewell and adieu to you freely Landies

After 13 years, my Freely 2 will be orft elsewhere shortly. I have always liked the Shogun Sport and now that they are almost free due to Mitsu leaving the continent I am bidding farewell and going all Japanese. The Freely 2 has been my favourite car and I shall look back on our Landy years with much affection. May I just add that this Forum has been most excellent, so many thanks to the Mods, managers, sponsors and all contributors. Happy Landrovering and stay safe all. Robin

Not sure youre making the best automotive decision ever, having driven the Shogun Sport, admittedly only the V6 petrol version (Which makes a nice noise, doesnt actually go very fast and has a horrific appetite for petrol and rolls through bends like a drunken sailor) Id confidently say the Freelander is the superior car all day long Whistle Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

I had a SWB Shogun years back , it was bulletproof. A few of the guys on our shoot use L200s never a bad word. I’ve had Mitsubishi , Suzuki , Toyota , and now currently a Subaru which has had 4 and half years and 50thousand miles of faultless running . I’ve also had a Land Rover product for the last 24 years at the behest of my late wife who loved LR .

. The Japanese stuff never had any reliability issues whatsoever . I like LandRover but every single one ( two Defenders from new and the Fl2 from 2 years old ) has failed to meet the same reliability as the Jap stuff . Obviously the Fl2 I’ve got is 11 years old now , and I’d hope that the QA in LandRover has caught up with the best .

Enjoy your Shogun . It will be great . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Interesting that Mitsubishi are still advertising on TV and Instagram. I wonder how many customers realise that they will disappear in a year or so and how the warranty/servicing issues will be handled? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

It’s a question I’d ask . However as the withdrawal is part of the Nissan/Renault/ Mitsubishi global plan , I can’t see owners being hung out to dry . At some time in the future , the Nissan brand will also go leaving just the Renault name . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

no that's S**troen (Citroen)

my daughter has a 1.2 petrol Kadjar and its actually really good.

the only thing its sufferered from is the drivers outer seat bolster, which is pleather, is badly cracked and yet the car has only done 36k miles. Its something that the French manufacturers don't seem to have cured in 30 odd years since I last briefly owned a Renault 21 with the same problem

Shame as it do really like the look of the Citroen C5 aircross Confused

Ah OK - a Citroen (tho I like your name for them better RogB Thumbs Up )

As soon as I identify anything as French I strangely lose any interest in knowing anything more about it - I love Red wine - but drink almost exclusively new world reds - the French quality went down hugely and their prices went up hugely decades ago. I'm told they have recently upped their game but with high quality well priced wines from elsewhere why would I go back to buying French?

Just don't get me started on their revolting runny cheeses Rolling with laughter (sadly we seem to not have a vomiting emoticon) Rolling with laughter 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 Manual Dynamic
