Clatter/ticking sound during de-acceleration - swirls?

Hi all,

My car is now rounding 175000miles. After reading about several issues with the swirl flaps, I am considering to replace my intake manifold with a low mileage unit from one of the scrappers just for the piece of mind. Are there any symptoms/signs that the flaps is on their way out (in is probably a better description Very Happy )?? I have some clatter/chatter sound from the engine when letting the accelerator slightly of, running on de-acceleration. Not sure if this can be linked to the swirls? Sounds more like valve ticking... Any clues/advice?

I have ordered an 87k miles second hand inlet manifold which shall be in sound condition. Will fit this one on a preventive basis when recieved.

Are you going to remove the swirl flaps or are you getting one without?

If it were me, i would not be putting one in with swirl flaps that had done 87K.

Took mine out around 70 K and have noticed zero difference in anything. FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green
Evoque SD4 Auto Blue.
FL1 HSE TD4 Manual Black - Gone.
RR Classic V8 EFI - Gone
