Check steering reservoir filter isn't blocked. What happens if you are stationary and move the steering wheel left or right? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

My money is on a wheel bearing starting to wear out even if there is no noticeable play if you have had the car jacked up and checked the bearing by rocking the wheel. You can perhaps narrow it down to a particular wheel by finding a quiet road or empty car park and driving along at a steady speed and turning a little left and right and listen for the noise or do a big circle left then right. If you are unable to pin it down you could let it develop a bit more which should make it easier to pinpont. Good luck! |

I agree with Dorset, I spent months chasing similar problem to this, no help from JLR or indie by rolling road or test drives. After the fault became tactile through the steering wheel - replaced reservoir plus oil and was pleasantly surprised to find no further road noise or resonance. A cheap fix and great instructions + tips on this site for replacing and bleeding. |

If you are considering doing the job yourself it is relatively simple...especially if you are buying the complete hub set...give everything a quick spray with WD40 or a release spray first to make things easier.. particularly the abs sensor which you need to ease out gently...
