I'm retro-fitting a 2013 steering wheel but cannot find reference to the bolt needed to attach it to the column which is longer than the earlier one.
Anyone know the size I need ? I've spent 2 hours this morning on the net to no avail. But there's always someone who can find stuff in seconds .

I don’t know but believe the bolt is a once only use I think it snaps off if removed.

Thanks for the reply but that's the steering lock shear bolt. The one I'm after is the steering wheel retaining bolt - the one that holds the steering wheel to the column.

I checked my Haynes but as usual, not worth a carrot beyond saying that the (size unspecified) bolt should be tightened to 48 Nm / 35 lbf-ft.

^^^ Cheers ReggiePerrin. Yes, I had been through all the threads on the subject of steering wheels and came across that. However, it's an alternative rather than the actual bolt. As changing the steering wheel is considered a modification, my insurance would want the correct factory fitted bolt. If anything were to happen....................well, you know what insurance companies are like.

According to LRCat there is only one bolt fitted irrespective of Vin number which is LR000696. However, there are several different steering columns and steering wheel combinations which are depending on Vin number. It would appear that the steering wheel boss may be deeper on the later FL2 and therefore not a straight interchangeable part.

AJ - that sounds plausible as the later steering wheel sits around 5mm proud of the steering shroud/switchgear.
