Busted a front drive shaft just out of Gilgandra. Tow to Dubbo in the AM. Could’ve been worse. MY11 SD4 SE Auto

If you have to leave it there & return home there is a train from Dubbo to Sydney. It's a slow ride, twice went to Land Rover in Orange to look at the Freelander, the only petrol & white one I could find in the NSW. Then a second time to pick it up. We took backpacks with us & went camping the day we bought it. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Made the driving much easier. The tow was only about 70 kms.
Sadly he delivered the car to the wrong place so a day has been lost with no one looking at it. A long weekend here, so it won’t be looked at until Tuesday, a new shaft will take a week or more to arrive.
It’s likely the car and van will be towed right back to Sydney.
Just for a laugh I asked the local LR dealer. Cost $1100. BUT. The shaft will have to come from the UK. Rolling with laughter MY11 SD4 SE Auto

When I stripped the transfer box out of mine I found that the RH drive shaft splines where it enters the gearbox were badly worn. Easy swap at that point (150k), would possibly have lasted another 50k. Couldn’t really say not fit for purpose at 200k Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
