@Vanny,
If I ever get the car back on-line I'll have the seat out and fully examine the electrics/mechanics of it and transfer whatever I need to of my known good seat Today's 2nd update: In the pi55ing down rain today I managed to test all the fuses and relays in the 3 fuse boxes...there are 111 of them in all and they were ALL intact. (Whilst testing I managed to drop F1 down into the abyss . It's the fuse that's not a fuse. Has a diode symbol on it. Says it's not used in the manual. Anyone know if it's needed? If so it looks like I'll be dropping the engine under-shield off when it next stops raining ) I say I tested them all but I didn't test the engine box fuses which run down the side of the fuse box (taking off the air intake in horizontal rain was beyond me...what a design!). So that's F3 F4 and F16-21. F3 & F4 I believe are for the cooling fans and glow plugs so I assume wouldn't give the totally dead/no key response I'm seeing. F16-21 are the supplies for the other 2 fuse boxes and I tested these by looking at the 12v supply to those. I have the list in Excel format if anyone wants to see it? (Can't work out how to attach non-pictures) Whilst testing the fuses I also checked the presence of power on either of the blade sockets for the fuse and found that around 60% of them had +12v on one or other terminal. Without checking each and every wiring diagram I assume the ones which weren't live are ignition-switched. So we know we have 12v all around the car where it should be but still nothing from any lights/switches/keys. I thought, sod-it. As it's knackered I can't do any more damage so I plugged the laptop back in and fired up SDD. To my surprise it connected and I was able to run a partial diagnostic. 2 new/additional DTC's were present (not tried clearing them yet): U0300-00 RFA ECU (Keyless Vehicle Module) - Internal control module software incompatibility. U0140-00 IPC ECU (Instrument Cluster Control Module) - Lost communication with body control module. "Possible causes CAN bus circuit fault. Actions required Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and check the power and ground connections to the module. Using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system, complete a CAN network integrity test. Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and check the CAN network between the Central Junction Box and Instrument Cluster." There's also a list of ECU's not responding but I assume that this is due to the fact the car thinks its in locked/ignition-off mode. Those ECU's are: ABS / BCM / DDM / PAM / PBM / PCM / RCM / SASM I do have the session file(s) saved if there are any SDD/CCF experts out there who can help? I also had a rummage around what the CCF programming would allow and it does appear that there are 3 versions of the CCF, the BCM one (Master), the IPC (Backup) and the AS-IS file (Original Config). The BCM config had a big red X next to it so I assume it is corrupt, but the other two had a green tick. There must be a way to load these but I couldn't work it out...then again not sure how I'd enable programming mode with the ignition inoperative. Again...I'm in need of an SDD/CCF expert methinks |

Well I suppose that’s a bit of progress. |

Exactly the (60A) fuses you've mentioned you didn't verify I was talking about...

I think I'd be tempted to send a hard reset (22 11) to the BCM, but I'm not sure how you do that in SDD. That would force it to drop out of any programming mode and hopefully get it responding again. |

Little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

What happens if you put the original seat(s) back in and connect them? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

It sounds as though you've wiped the KVM...

SDD is online and up-to-date version 160. Got my access code from https://www.vehcom.com/jlr/access-code/
I will do but don't want to start doing this till I have some sort of response from the instrument cluster/key-fob/lights...unless you think that the DSM is the cause of the issue?
I definitely agree there, but I did a couple of weeks research before plucking up the courage to press the Big Red Button
Me neither. Does anyone on here have that knowledge? I'd be happy to give it a go with some direction?
How do I check the KVM/RFA module software version? How do I know it's in bootloader mode? Cheers again folks...all your help is much appreciated. @SYFL2...I'm in Sheffield too, Stocksbridge to be precise. Don't suppose you know any local non-dealer SDD/CCF experts? |

I spotted this on internet. I have no idea if it is relevant but it mentions late model FL2s and programming of KVM.

To those, who like me, struggle to understand what all these TLAs (Three Letter Abbreviations) are, I have found a list.

I've been working with SDD for 12 years, bricked many cars, and still petrified of the damn thing. Bricked cars where normally recovered with engineering tools! I was gonna say SDD stopped at 159. But I've just checked the genuine download site; http://diagnosticdelivery.jlrext.com/idscentral/ And they have dropped a sunset 160 edition. Guess I need to update! |
