Hi there, I have a 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto, it has developed an issue with the radio and head unit display. On start up, most of the time, both the radio and touch screen display will come on but go off a second later and then boot up and flash on again and repeat, sometimes for 5 minutes but then work perfectly fine.

Any help on why its doing this would be great, reading through the forum would I be right in thinking things could be pointing to the bluetooth module starting to fail?

How old is your 12v battery?

As autumn appears, the temperature drop will cause 'iffy' power to all kinds of units as they attempt to boot up.

The FL2 seems to particularly suffer from a random failures as the battery efficiency drops off.

Could well be the bluetooth module (was for me, and seems to usually be that from reading old posts) but could also be anything on that loop dying.

The MOST bus is a ring based media bus, if you remove a module you break the ring and nothing connected to the MOST bus will work properly. You have to close the ring again after removing a module for instance by placing a MOST shunt (partnumber LR019014) on the cable going to the module.

With a MOST shunt you can remove a module from the bus and see if it solves your problem. If removing a module does not solve the problem, connect it again and try the next one.
