Hello everyone,

I'm currently repairing my rear diff (thx to MRRover75 post !!!) and I'm at the step of removing inside bearings of left and right driveshaft,
The bearing's worn out and maybe heated up so I will replace them. (My FL2 is about 200 000 km).



Inside the diff, I notice that there is a shim/o ring (?) between the outer ring of the bearing and the differential map.
The shim is about 1mm to 2mm. You can look at the photos.

Does anyone know the part number on this part?
It doesn't show up on any of the exploded views from lrparts.

Leave the shims in the place where they belong.
Their size are most probably picked after measurements that are done at the factory to set the running clearances.
So for a DIY repair, put the sims back in where they where found. Make sure everything are absolutely clean and smooth before putting things together again.
There is a risk that you damage the edge of the shim when pulling out the old bearing races, but this is OK as long as you file down the dents and burrs made to below the initial surface/width before putting them back in.

That's what I ended up doing.
Pay attention to the edges of these shims by filing off the parts that were touched when the bearings were removed.

Diff is now ok
