Make you wonder if it's a Chinese copy. A few years ago I had a problem with a sensor on my FL2 and it went to the dealer. They called me to say that there would be a delay as the replacement had arrived but it was clearly the wrong item even though it had the correct part number on the box. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Was the track rod itself shorter or just the threaded section at the end of it? Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

As your car is a 2007 is it possible the TRE had been changed previously and was a pattern part which had a longer threaded part then the genuine part. A photo of the part in question would help identify if there is anything to worry about or not. |

Dondiddy, as I’ve owned the car for 9 of it’s 12 years and this was the first time I’ve had a track rod or TRE changed I think I’m fairly safe in saying that the parts were original and my mechanic changed them for genuine parts.

I would have expected at least 2-3 threads still showing behind the locknut to allow for any further adjustment. It would appear that the new part is incorrect despite what the dealer says. I have had previous experience of parts being wrongly labelled or miss identified,(not LR)so it can happen. Do you know the part number of the part that was supplied? |

Track rod end - LR002609, Track rod - LR016869 are the parts that have been invoiced for and these numbers agree with part numbers on the Advanced Factors website. |

Seems like a manufacturing fault - not enough thread has been cut on the end of the track rod maybe? Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

From what I could find the thread should be 68mm in length. |
