Fuel gauge incorrect reading

Hi looking at a car but guy says it’s immaculate but fuel gauge is faulty always says 2 thirds full is it a expensive fix,

Apparently getting timing belt change next week at a cost of £44o which I thought was rather cheap, the car is a 60 plate,

Price of timing belt change can vary wildly, Id say thats a reasonable indy price, make sure they include the water pump while they are in there if youre thinking of buying it! Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

If its the connections on the fuel sender unit it can only be done with the fuel tank out of the car. Time consuming job but doable. Had to do mine awhile back. I have a post on here somewhere, so does "Divewaly" Thumbs Up Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.
Freelander now gone.
