I heavily waxoyled inside the wheel arches after removing the rubber strips and plastic wheel arch protectors - waited till the waxoyl had "set" before reinstalling everything. Hopefully I will not have to replace the wings due to corrosion. Jules |

Well, the other three seams are clean and there is NO trace of seam sealer having been used.

could your car had that panel replaced in its early life on the road ? Highly unusual for production line robots to fail. |

My first car was 25 years old (I had it 18 years) & second car was 18 years old & I have no intention of getting rid of the Freelander. What I have found with keeping cars so long is that they go through a bit of a stage of repairs then get seem to just need the basics. But the biggest saving is one is not throwing away money on depreciation. Quite frankly I also don't see another car out there that I would want, not even my Sister's Evoque which is a few years older than my Freelander. When one washes the car stick the hose up over the plastic wheel arch liners. If one is waxing & polishing the visible stuff you have long term maintenance around the wrong way! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
