A nice community!!

I've been on this forum for a month + and I just wanted to say how helpful you've all been in that time.

Before I had my Freelander I had an Alfa GT and before that and Audi TT - Forums for those marques were really helpful and I wondered what the 4x4 community would be like.

It's been a revalation!!

You guys/gals are so good. You respond to all the Dumb questions without complaint. Thanks.

Buy the way - mines BLACK!!! (2007 3.2 i6)

Ha, much like a previous thread, I initally saw racial connotations here!

If martinique blue was the colour of choice (which it rightfully should be), we wouldn't have this issue! Laughing 09MY FL2 Td4 XS, Style Pack, Privacy Glass, Martinique Blue.. oh so very blue..

Think I should explain!

I like Black - Henry Ford was right - "You can have any color (sic) you like as long as it's BLACK!!!"

I've been driving for 40 years and in that time I've had 25 cars. Not sure how that pans out in % terms for car owners but one car every 1.5 years seems pretty good to me!

Anyway, of those 25 cars (and there's been some weird ones in there - (Simca, Austin Maxi - plus some good ones - Morris Minor Convertible, MG Midget, TT, Alfa GT) 15 of the 25 have been BLACK!

It's just a given - cars look BEST in Black! Full Stop!

We picked Martinique Blue because it would stand out like the proverbial.

Being in a tropical area, black does get way too hot, and grey cars on the highway aren't really visible.

We almost picked white Shocked

We've had several admiring comments from people on how good ours looks and quite a few stares from fellow (non Martinique Blue) Freelander 2 owners as they pass - no doubt in envy as they pass in their greys and blacks... Very Happy FL2 TD4 XS manual, XS style pack, Martinique Blue

Belgium 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Santorini Black

I do admit I once preferred the red, but just before desciding I went to the Belgian motershow and ther was a red one on show. It kinda looked pinkish to me so I descided against it.
My son preferred a black one and seeing one up close I really really liked it, especially with the chrome tubes.
So that was the colour I went for.

As it is not a HSE and the skirts and bumpers have black plastic parts on them, I descided agains any other colour. A comming upgrade of the car, like they do on all brands, is paint every bumper in the smae colour of the rest of the car. If you have those unpainted black plastic parts on the car, it would show it's age more. The black cars won't have that problem with the added bonus that you wont notice scratches on those parts that good.

So appart form looking good, it also is the best choise in the practical sence of the word.

I also want to add that the light protection parts are also black, but I don't have those.

Norway 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Stornoway Grey

Maybe its time to ask Martin to split the forum into colour sections as we will never agree on which is best and I am getting
p Censored d off with "the colour war".

I suggest that we split the forum into four sections to stop the arguing:
The Stornoway's Thumbs Up
The Blue's Whistle
The Red's Embarassed
and the rest Laughing 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc.
