Seems a lot of work just to clean a door - do you really want to risk breaking the fixings etc ? Jules

I can't see why not but I haven't tried it myself even though I had all the trim panels off many times. What I have found, it is easier to leave the windows down so you can get the machanical door lock connection connected again. It does go back together easily but you do need to line it up precisely.

Do you need the door trim panel off that long?

You will find more dirt under the door sill trims panels & behind the boot panels.

Get some panel clips as you will most likely break a few. Part numbers in the Soundproofing Deadening thread

Yeah - I too found lots of mud under the door sill trims - and mine has not been seriously off-roaded Jules

Stick a hose up over the plastic wheel arch liner.

Hi,
not sure which door or all doors you mean but I left the n/s/r door card off over night when I changed the lock actuator and if you remove the window switch from the card or you disconnect it with the window fully up everything else worked and locked fine
You have to put the door card near to the door again to connect the switch to drop the window before accessing the lock again though

Thumbs Up .

This is why I'm asking Jules,
if it's to much work or vehicle not secure or drivable then
I'll clean in situ.
Thanks everyone for your comments. Very Happy

Some people enjoy taking cleaning to the extreme - in fact there is a whole industry based on this "detailing"
But its not for me. Sure, I like a clean car but I dont enjoy doing it. Jules

the motor has got really dirty on the inside (now retired gardener}
and I really need to do a clean, the idea was to clean the cards on the bench
and then let then dry in the sun, oh well I'll to do one a day to give the car a chance to
dry out, before it's locked for night.
