Freelander Door Locks

Hi Guys

I need some help with my 2014 Freelander 2. I can lock my doors with both my spare key and main key, but every now and then my doors wont unlock with either key (this is starting to happen more often). if I press my Boot/5th Door button , it opens . I then have to climb into my car from the boot/ 5th Door.

Then sometimes the Divers Door Opens and sometimes it doesn't but all the other doors work and the same with the passenger door. Always intermittently.

Please Help

Possibly the door actuators failing.

A good code reader should identify which ones are at fault.

As TooBlue said, most probably the door actuators or a combination of them failing. There are a lot of information on the forum about these locks. Mine did very much the same as you described, starting with the driver's door that failed first. (lock that works the most).
Mostly it is the carbon brushes on the door actuator electric motors that gets worn out, starting to work intermittently and finally die.
These little motors can be replaced at a fraction of the cost of a new complete door lock/actuator.
I use an iCarsoft LR V2.0 diagnostic tool from Electroman SA. It clearly shows which actuators are failing.

Mine did this . Drivers door could only be unlocked from inside. I bought the part from landrover for about 100 quid . On inspection of the old one it was the brushes in the motors that had worn out. New one fitted a lot easier than i thought . I did need a hand from a friend to hold door cards etc .

Hello

My driver door lock is playing up. There are lots of types of door actuators which is not stated if its a RHD or LHD. So I have decided to go with the Motor option. Do you have a link or part number for the motor please?
