United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Santorini Black
Restricted Performance

Hi all
Got a 2013 FL 2 just done 50k,fuel filter replaced last Aug done about 5 k since.
I have an annoying hesitation when pulling away from home or a junction in 1st gear, when the temperature was cold the other week seemed to be no problems.Been underneath this morning check intercooler pipes all good no whistling noises all seem to be in good condition
Last thurs did 300 mile trip at motorway speeds no issues or faults until the last 25 miles when for the first time Restricted Performance came up and the last few miles went into limp mode but has not done so since.
Always starts no bother but on tickover can be a little lumpy when stating from cold but you really have to listen
Normal driving is fine up to any speed pulls away perfect just is a problem at 1000 rpm when pulling away if you put the accelerator down harder no hesitation.
Any body know of a good fault reader
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks Richard

The dpf doesn't require a regent by any chance ? Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.
Freelander now gone.

i would purchase a couple of bottles of comma diesel injector magic, stick both bottles in tank before you do a long run and then run the tank low before refill. If it improves it will most likely point to an injector.
Have you tried putting in some two stroke oil, low ash Jasco FC or FD spec? about 100ml in a tank, that sweetens them up.

If you can access the diesel filter yourself, we used to have a lot of similar issues with Peugeot 2.0 HDi engines, easiest trick was to run engine untill HOT, switch off, remove and fill diesel filter with injector magic, start for 35 secs and switch off, leave overnight. then stick 2nd bottle in fuel tank and drive. used to work wonders.
that leaves concentrated injector cleaner sitting in the injectors all night and with the engine hot to start with really helps the cleaning effect. Jaguar x-type sport gone
Jaguar x-type 2.2d sport one of my best cars ever sadly gone
Freelander 2 GS auto 2008 most unreliable ever ! gladly gone
