They would probably get better economy improvements if the banned auto transmissions, mainly because most Americans cant drive 'stick' so wouldn't drive at all  At work

I heard earlier a rumour that LR was going to drop black from their colour assortment in the hope that it will convince the buying public of Land Rovers commitment to environmental awareness.

Seems now it was not just a rumour as the new _e model will not be available in any black colour, just for starters  2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc.

I know all about that. I had an interesting time when I worked over there for three years. We made certain assumptions about driving ability that were completely wrong, I spent a significant amount of time teaching folks to drive "stick". What made it FAR more interesting was that we required our folks to drive fuel trucks within very close proximity of multi-million $ aircraft ... boy was it scarey !!!

Don't you just love our Americans cousins across the pond? Its fine to put stonking great V8 petrol engines into cars and build 5 ton SUV's which blow out gazillion tons of carbon, not to mention boxy vehicle designs with the aerodynamics of a house brick, but some idiot wants to reduce AC use!  58 HSE, auto, lago grey, tints. Mine and my dogs Storm and Sky
