We have stocked up at Tennant Creek coming from Mount Isa & bought petrol at TC as it is cheaper than at Three Ways, 26km north of TC, the round trip is cheaper. The only supermarket in town burns down. Even though you are in civilization you soon realise how remote you are.

If driving through TC stock up at Alice Springs (508km) or Katherine (674km), or Mount Isa (662km) in Queensland.

Blimey Lightwater that is shocking . for us in this little island traveling any more than 20 miles for shopping or fuel is annoying I cant imagine having to travel those sort of distances for supplies
Hopefully they should be able to get food etc airlifted in using some sort of emergency plan

Puts it all into perspective

It's not really a problem, it's just if you get caught short, a roadtrain will bring in supplies. They just have to get a shed organised.

Roadtrains will need to bring in baked beans instead of explosives!
