Hello

I’m a new member of this forum. Thought I’d share a picture of My 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 XS. I’ve had it from new, mostly used as a second car after the first year of use, so it’s only covered 30,000 miles. It’s got a full landrover dealer service history and a landrover extended warranty.

I was going to trade it in but have decided to keep it and use it for green lane / light off roading. I did go on a Landrover Experience off road driving day which I got as a complimentary gift from the dealer when I bought the car, and was very impressed with what the Freelander 2 can do off road, if it’s driven properly. Sadly I have never been off road in a Freelander since. My Freelander has only seen road use and on the occasional camping site so far, but I’m looking forward to trying some green lanes and off road driving days if I can find a good club to join and help me learn the ropes.

Did it really need new struts, control arms and discs at only 30000 miles?
Ive done 70000 on mine and its only had discs and pads in that time. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

I must admit I was a bit confused Bob - the Drover piggybacked on my thread. His car has 30,000. Mine has 93,000 miles.

A front strut was leaking. Yearly MOT equivalent suggested the pads and discs (not convinced but I was keen to do it). And the banging and vibration from the front end suggested the LCA work.

I measured the front discs and they are close to kaput so that's next on the plan I think. MY11 SD4 SE Auto
