Yes, in a nutshell if the air intake tube has the âorgan pipesâ, there is NO DPF fitted. If itâs just a big single tube with no blanked off pipes sticking out to the front is does have a DPF. (I think!) Derek Hill

Now that would be naughty if it had been removed, and also illegal Didnât think you would get a 2012 with no dpf So vin number best way to check |

You might be missing the point, some of the manifolds have swirl flaps, these have been known to fail (on lots of manufacturers eg BMW VW), so it isn't uncommon for owners to replace the intake manifold complete, with one that doesn't have the potentially damaging swirl flaps.

DPF was fitted to UK models in late 2010 (2011 MY) when they switched to the TD4 (150 bhp) or SD4 (190 bhp). It was also the first facelift when front eyebrows and the full width tailgate handle were fitted (although not a guaranteed way of checking as could have been retro fitted). |

As an aside I understand that Euro 6c petrol cars required a DPF from Sept 2018 onwards. Roll on electric power ! 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I think youâll find that the VIN method is the guaranteed way, unless of course the DPF has been previously removed! (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal. 171037Km as of 09/05/22 Superchips Bluefin Flash Nanocom Evo II (also sold) |
