No it’s how it is you won’t be able to unlock with the tailgate handle but the key fob or the two switches in the cabin will still unlock the tailgate, welcome to the world of Land Rover Mr. Green

How do you manage that? I was aware they could all be closed by holding the key fob button, but not all opened at once

Just hold unlock button down and all windows should open. If not working, you need to calibrate your windows.

Hi all,
Should my boot on a 2010 FL2 open with the car doors?
Because mine doesn’t, it will only open via the button on the fob.
Thanks,

Lee

There seems to be some confusion with terminology. When selecting “doors unlock” on the key fob, it will “unlock” doors and tailgate but not “open” the tailgate. The tailgate can then be opened via the switch above the number plate. If this switch is not working it likely needs replacing as per posts above. However, if you select “boot” on the fob, the tailgate will actually unlatch, not just unlock. This “feature” is supposedly there if you return to the car with hands full, so the tailgate can simply be lifted.
There can also be issues with the latch in the tailgate failing. I once had it fail with tailgate closed, but the car thought it was open & would not permit the car to lock. Had to change the latch in sitúe - a pig of a job!
BTW, the tailgate circuit shares its fuse with the locking fuel flap - always worth a check!

yes when i press unlock on the key for it just doesnt unlock the boot, if i try nothing happens, only when i press the unlock on the keyfob for the boot, it then releases it so all i have to do is pull it open, so im guessing it is the switch/handle, i will replace it one day but as i dont go in the boot much its not a massive problem,

thanks.
