You often see European or British caravans for sale here. Once their owners see the roads and distances they quickly realise their vans are just not suitable. Something to watch out for. Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Seeing your earlier pic Benzol, your Al Ko bracket is mounted on top of what looks like a (roughly) 5” deep A frame. No wonder your ‘van looks nose down when hitched. The later pic (Jules) of that other van looks fairly level but the hitch seems to be at the lower edge of the A frame, matching up to the standard height of the car’s tow hitch. Are you sure the van hitch arrangement on yours is correct?

Hi Bob
The forum is setup to inform me that replies had been made but I'm not getting any notification.

However, yes it is a BIG drawbar frame. The van has good independent suspension on each side and good ground clearance at the axles. The drawbar does sit in a downwards position when on the tow bar hence the initial grumbles. It would normally be a situation of simply turning the towbar tongue upside down and reversing the towball but for shortness of the tongue. The ball just about touched the bumper.
That's why I have had the towbar tongue extended, I can reverse it.
Now the van sits level and I have no worries about going over rough ground.

Glad you have it sorted Dave. Just watch that towbar extension. Heavy trailers (like yours) will put one hell of a load on that bar, especially on those outback roads!
