I've never been so excited about taking a car in to get a repair. Had it booked in at a local indy for a replacement Bell rear diff but have had to wait until they reopened thanks to lockdown.

No, getting to and from Bell was out of the question for me, what with childcare etc. But a local indy sources their diffs from him and although it costs a little more it is far more convenient. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

New diff in. No noise! It's amazing how quiet it is and how much noise you get used to.

Plus it was one of Austin Bell's diffs, which makes me happy. But with the convenience of being done a few miles outside of Edinburgh 😁 FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

This has to do with the "fault balance" found on most Land Rover... If you repair something, something else will soon fail.. I replaced the clutch and DMF a month ago. Now its time for a new throttle body. I will not try to guess whats next on the list.... |

She doesn't mind 🤣 she knows her new car, which costs nothing to maintain, costs a lot in lease payments each month 🤣 FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

I fear my FL2 is coming close to biting the bullet on the diff too.. Very noisy after a round trip from Dorset to the lake District.. bracing for the cost! |

How long did you put up with the noise for? Mines been a little rumbly since December. Mot in September and wandering if it will fail on the noisey diff? |

Probably about a year. Slowly got worse and I knew it could eventually cause some real damage. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

I was just thinking of all of the cars that I and my extended family have owned and run in the last 50+ years that I have been driving and the only one with a diff problem was the FL2. Very poor state of affairs really and apparently still occurring in Evoques? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I suppose you could argue that the FL2 is probably one of the heavier and more complex vehicles, so may be more prone to issues. Although on the flip side the parts should be of a rating to cope as such. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
