England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Baltic Blue

I agree with oldgeezer. You need to get a real code reader attached to the car. The cheap obd2 readers only read the main codes. A dealers or similar will read the sub codes. I don’t have a manual for your model year but my up to 2010 doesn’t have P245a code listed in the dtc’s. Find a good independent Land Rover specialist rather than a franchised dealer.

Further update. Took my freelancer to Swinfield Cooper in Leicester and they found issue with egr cooler. So it requires a new egr cooler due to a broken spring. Total cost will be £1400 because changing egr valve as well. Fingers crossed this will finally fix it. Anyone remember triggers broom from only fools and horses. It will have had full service in November then new brakes, timing belt, water pump, battery, glow plugs and now egr valve and cooler.

For anyone thats followed this thread. Still OK after egr cooler and valve change. Garage said a spring had failed inside cooler. So 10p spring cost £1500.
