We should have been staying with friends in Minions this week. Big Cry Common sense isn't very common.

Sorry to hear that, Minions is a nice remote area for a bit of quiet and wandering, Cheeswring pub is not bad for food either, although for atmosphere we go to the Crows Nest a bit more, a really old and characterful pub. Regards

I'm disappointed.

BoxBrownie I thought that that was your off-shore tax haven island that you had pictured, and so was very jealous.

Never mind Looe Cornwall is very attractive anyway, and probably the best Spring you have had, without the traffic.

Mind you we have been busy with day trippers in my area, they even had to get a helicopter in to rescue a man from Birmingham (100+ miles travel) who got trapped on the rocks by the tide. Now our seafront has been coned-off and they may stop parking/access to it forever.

I think the traveller was still within the rules as the 2 hour trip each way from Birmingham, balanced the length of wait for rescue, and therefore his exercise. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)

Not been into Looe for over ten weeks but by all accounts it has been deserted but the past two weeks have been getting busier despite signs around basically saying “f**k off and stay home” Rolling with laughter we are lucky in that we are just 75 metres from our beach so at least the grandchildren have been able to play on the beach, rock pools, swim etc.......but they went home two days ago as their Dad (our Son) feels the risk is getting quite low now as Covid entries to his A&E have been down a long way for about three weeks, until the next “hump”........sad to see them go but boy is it nice and quiet again here Laughing Regards

Laughing
St George’s island has a fascinating story, the Sisters that owned it for all those years, and one being a teacher and rowing to work each day.........makes you wonder.

We have a couple of neighbours (very elderly brothers) who used to swim from our beach and do a lap of the island (swimming) for exercise every morning until they were about 60, they now just swim a mile or so every morning instead Shocked

I always wondered if they stopped off to visit the Sisters each morning Rolling with laughter

Your Nephew is a lucky chap it’s a unique location. Regards

David

75 metres from the beach?

That is bloody miles away (to be fair, there is a beach in a bay at the front of the house but it is lousy, hardly a beach). Smile
