What to do?

Our Freel is about to reach the 150.000 miles. So it needs a new cambelt etc..
Car is running great, looks verry nice and drives like a dream.
Should i trade it at a DS or Evogue, or keep it for another 60k? That's about 3 years for me.
Did not have and real probleem yet, but can i aspect problems after 150k? 'per aspera ad astra'

My gut answer is get the cam belt etc done and stick with it.

Do the belt and service they are best Land Rovers ever.
I've got an 2007 i6 on 125,000 miles and will only get rid of it when there is no way of fixing it, Common sense isn't very common.

Keep it

Avoid the Ewok like the plague - it's not in the same vein as a comfy workhorse.
The DS is a nice upgrade, but it's an awful lot of money, a little bit faster, a few nice toys, 7 seats are a complete waste of time unless you regularly carry half a football team, and even though it's newer you might still be buying a bag of (different)troubles. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

Be careful reading about the DS on the DS website, the majority of posters are those who are dissatisfied, there are an awful lot of happy DS owners out there.

The very early DS had the FL2 2.2 diesel engine so mechanically as good/bad as the FL2, there were some bodyshell issues and a few were rejected because of B pillar tick (faulty weld?). Later DS had early 2.0 ignium engines with a stupid exhaust/emissions system that dumped fuel into the sump, combine with an unrealistic 20k service interval, lead an awful lot of people to have sleepless nights. Change the oil and filter every 12k and the engine SHOULD last as long as the 2.2 version.
Mine is a later 240 ignium, it certainly doesn't seem to be putting fuel in the sump as the level has dropped 25% in about 12K at which point I had the oil changed, because that's long enough in any engine that I am going to keep. yes the balance shaft bearing went noisy and were changed without quibble under warranty, not something that worries me as I do 25k+ a year, so if they are going to go again it will still be under warranty.

No my biggest concern in your case is the FL2 is probably worth £5k, our newish DS cost me £37k - you can buy an awful lot of repairs and fuel for £30k, yes it's as practical, more fuel efficient and more toys, but not £30k worth of toys. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

The only reason I have said it is because the family made me get rid of our FL2.
at 185k the gearbox was tired, to be honest the suspension was probably tired, the engine was faultless, the body work tired, and the interior showing it's age.

I got £3.5K for the FL2, lost £8k on the Ewok, and spent £37k on the second DS - First DS lost around £5k in two years so I won't begrudge that.

If I had spent £20K on the FL2 I could have had a complete re-spray, new gearbox, new suspension, glowplugs and injectors, and had enough left over for a shakedown drive to visit my Mum (1600 miles each way). Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

If you owned it from new and serviced it regularly, it has minimal rust and no issues, why get rid of it since it's likely paid for? Just my opinion of course...... Thumbs Up

I am 2nd (carefull) owner, car had full dealer service history and has no rust or damage at all.
It's just.... i've never owned a modern car with this (high) milage.
Had a 300TDI 110 Defender with nearly 300.000 miles, but that's a 300TDI Cool
But you're all quite right, if i spent 30% of the amount € or £ it's probably like new again. 'per aspera ad astra'
