Modifications or not?

Hi all, we have a 59plate FL2 HSE it has tinted windows and 19" alloys and I would like to know if the wheels were an optional extra and was the tinted windows standard on the HSE?
The reason I am asking is we would like to fit a set of side steps are these looked at as a modification as far as my insurance is concerned, we have also fitted the upgrade of tinted LED rear lights from Powerful UK are these classed as a modification?
I would like to find out before I try to contact my insurance company,L&V, as at the present time phone enquiries are somewhat difficult.
Cheers
Moe

When I enquired about fitting 2 spot lights to my freelander my insurance company wanted to charge £90 extra on my policy.
As a result on renewal I phoned around and got insurance after declaring the lights cheaper and was told most companies don't charge unless it affects the running of it example tyre size, remap or performance chips, for safety reasons
Cosmetic enhancements simply require informing the insurance company
