If you can repair it yourself it could be a good buy , paying to get it repaired and considering it's worth 30% less with being written off possibly not .

There are bargains to be had on copart but you can get stung if you don’t do plenty of checks and if possible go to view them . Both my freelanders are copart cars and both turned out to be great bargains; the fact I can do most work myself is where the money is saved getting the parts second hand at a good price is also key . I nearly bid on that one myself but it was too far away from me . Now that they are getting on a bit and there are plenty out there they are really coming down In price. Older cars can be written off just with a few scrapes and a smashed headlight as the price of the new parts and body shop labour soon exceeds half the value so insurance pay out and the car ends up at copart where they can be bought and repaired with second hand bits at a fraction of the cost .i won this one for £1550 .
