I can’t see Land Rover surviving full stop to be honest with billions world wide out of jobs the last item on anybody’s list will be a new car, LR were in street prior to this virus |

Years ago I worked in an accountancy practice dealing with a company that brought in cars from abroad and they were stored down near the ferry ports. Colleague had to go and physically audit the stock each year and there were many occasions he'd find some cars there on consecutive counts. |

I have a part time job at the place that you are talking about, Portbury Dock. We have storage space there for up to 72,000 vehicles. They are imported and exported from there on giant vehicle transport ships, the biggest of them carry more than 2,500 cars, van, light truck and plant.

My son worked there some years ago, changing interiors of imported Mitsubishi SUVs for luxury leather to suit the British market.

Yes it is quite a slick operation. it is totally worked around the times of the tides, up to three of theses ships can be accommodated at any one time. we operate with two 12 hour shifts per day; on a good day I either unload or load between 40 to 45 vehicles per shift.
