Haldex unit

Haldex unit. First post for me on here, being a relative newbie to owning a freelander 2, 2.2 TD4. I have an early 2009 model, registered in March 09 plate. I was wondering if anyone knows whether it is likely to have the Gen 3 or Gen 4 Haldex unit, TIA, Rob.

Look underneath. (You'll get use to this being a Landrover owner Laughing )

The H3 is on the left. H4 is on the right.

Note the position of the removable filter cover - its really hard to get to on the H4 as its right on top, above the prop shaft. Jules

Sorry, you are right, on further investigation it seems that it changed in MY2009.

Wiki says

The 4WD system was developed in conjunction with Haldex and was called Third generation coupling. Vehicles from the 2009 model year are fitted with a modified design of the active on-demand coupling, known as Haldex's Fourth generation.

It looks like they changed in 2009 - having a look underneath is probably your quickest way to find out. Jules
