Rear Passenger Door fails to unlock - Lock

After some investigation I found that there are two fuses controlling the passenger rear doors of the Freelander 2. Removal of fuses FA 2 & FA 3; ( Located in the rear luggage compartment on the Freelander 2 ); Then simply re-inserting them and now the lock is working correctly. So now there is nothing to do

I just could not accept that there should be a failure within a year of the locking mechanism being replaced especially with such little use so just kept looking.

I think the prime cause of this initial failure could have been due to flat battery due to vehicle not being used for some 6 weeks.

Please remember this in case a similar incident occurs. its a very simple fix.

sometimes electronics does this ...... it's not the hardware but the firmware (what you might call software) that gets 'confused' ..... no pun with 'fuse' there ........ simple resets is all it needs.

I remember building some surveillance units for the police, who were monitoring a house (drug Den) over a video-link . Drugs Police reported day after day there was NO activity to the front or back doors. Only to find out the 'codec' had frozen due to firmware issues and was sending a continuous frame (still picture)

ooooophs.

Just like to report that my 2011 FL2 has suffered this very problem this morning. Fount this thread, pulled the listed fuses, left it a moment, re inserted and hey presto. All up and running again. Thanks guys.
