One morning whilst checking my emails, I was told of 'a win'. On checking with the internet, I had won £354 !!
Shouted over to , my wife, "i've won £354" to which she replied "just got my court letter through for speeding (64 in 40 limit) " She had been fined and costs of £300 + points ! Banging Head Banging Head

Apparently the statistics are such that you should only buy a lottery ticket on the day of the lottery. Your chances of winning the jackpot are less than the chance of being killed in an accident or natural causes over the preceding few days. Shocked

Can you explain this? I can't see how which day you buy your ticket can make a difference.

Quite simply the longer the time between buying the ticket and the prize draw the greater your chances of being struck by lightning or dying of an accident etc. You are correct in that this could happen to you at any time but the important thing is that you will have wasted a £1 on your ticket if you buy it too early and wont be around to collect. Won a couple of £10 prizes on the Postcode lottery but yet to have the team in the red jackets turn up and present the cheque.
I'm just hoping the 'big money' win turns up here and I'm the only one in the postcode that's playing, so it's all mine. Single finger to them all and out of here Laughing

Postcode lottery is a scam.

I tried it for a couple of years and like you only ever won £10 twice.

If you try and opt out, they try every trick to retain you and keep you on the phone for ages.
I expect they get loads of people trying to opt out of ther direct debits, so they keep advertising it on the TV to get more mugs to sign up.

Have a mate who won a new Bmw with it 3 years ago but he’s the only big ish winner I’ve heard of.
