Throttle body repair kit for 2.2 diesel engine

Hi

I am seeking some advice from those of you who have replaced the throttle bodies on the Freelander 2 diesel the reason is. I have a high pinched whine from the throttle body when the engine is turned of it lasts for over 15 minutes, has anyone tried to overhaul there's with on of the gear kits like these on eBay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Throttle-Body-G...SwwDRd1seM or do you just replace the unit in its entirety. Ps the vehicle is a 2014 GS with 72,000 miles.

Many thanks

It's fairly normal to have the whining noise and it's happened on the five FL2s that my family have owned (and only one has had a throttle body replaced). Sometimes it goes on for a few minutes but I have never timed it. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Yup, normal to have a high pitched whine after shutdown.

If it sounded like a screaming gear then that'd be the stripped teeth on the plastic gear, but if not, it's normal. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

My 2014 FL2 has done exactly that from new but continues to work fine. Jules

That looks like the kit made by one of Alex's friend's.
If it is it will be bloody good. Bow down Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.
Freelander now gone.

Those kit gears look really strong. I wonder what breaks next if they don’t? Just saying.

Been umming and arring on wheather to get this kit, even just to have on the shelf. Might whip my TB off this weekend and have a look to see how she's looking - that might make up my mind if she's looking rough.
