United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Tonga Green

Thanks for all the advice, picked up a 2012 SD4 Auto yesterday.
Hopefully it isn't a lemon!

First impressions are that there is no command driving position, the rear window is tiny and it is more car like to drive than the freely. Interior quality is very nice and it's a very nice place to be.
The gearbox seems not to be able to make it's mind up at low speeds with small throttle inputs. Could be a problem or just a characteristic!

Off topic I know but …
The latest keyless entry fobs have an accelerometer (movement sensor) built in. So they don't broadcast the signal unless they have been moving. Stops thieves from boosting the signal when the keys are on the sideboard.

If that’s true (not doubting you, just not heard it before) that’s a really good development, clever if it cannot be “got around”. Regards

David

Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me......

Please let me know if anything in my post offends you, as I may wish to offend you again......

Mercedes Benz pioneered this technology in 2018, and is now standard on all of their vehicles.

JLR have robust reverse-engineering principles in place regarding their keyfobs from a security perspective, but to my knowledge haven't gone down the movement sensor immobilisation route to date. Perhaps MB have lodged the Patent on it?

Very possibly, would be a shame though but not unusual.

Got our DiL and the Grand Kiddlies down with us at the moment for the duration and she will leave the keys to her brand new Velar on the window cills next to the front door (she keeps popping out to the car to retrieve crap), luckily our house is very remote and “off the beaten track” well to be honest it on the beaten track, the South West Coastal path, just have to watch for pirates Rolling with laughter Regards

Here's the instructions on how to re-set the throttle which affects the gearchange on your Evoque.

1) Press Start button to turn ignition on (with foot off brake so that you don’t start the engine).
2) Press the Accelerator down to the floor and hold it there for about 20 seconds.
3) Press the start button again to turn off the ignition.
4) Remove foot from Accelerator
5) Wait for a couple of Mins.
6) Start the engine and Drive.

* This works on most cars, not just Evoques. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.
