United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Loire Blue

Another Soviet Russia joke was that someone has ordered a new Wartburg (remember them? ) the dealer tells him that it will be delivered on a specific date in 4 years time. So he pays for the car in advance, and just before he leaves he asks the owner,
'Can I pick the car up in the morning or afternoon?' 'It's 4 years away, what does it matter?'

'The plumber happens to be coming that morning'. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

So what do I do? I am 71 and supposed to be self isolating. My FL2 MOT comes up in a week or so. It’s booked in at the dealers for service and MOT on Friday. Car must be serviced for the extended warranty. I am tempted to just sit there and wait for it rather than accept a lift into town and meet lots of people. #lifechoices

And ask them not to clean it, prevents the valeters going all over the interior. Just wipe the steering wheel, gear shift etc and the door handles, including the bonnet release when you get it back. You'll get the car back quicker as well.

When you go there leave used tissue around the car, cough medicine, aspirin, Fishermen Friends etc. Maybe they wave you through! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

What this phase in our lives will teach us is, what is important and what we can live without.
Over then next 12mths not only will our living habits change, also our spending habits will.
Businesses will have to evolve to teach/market us to spend our money in other ways, as we go out of the end of this period.
Life as we knew it will never be the same.

AS a point in case .......

Dear LargeRed,

This is a service email containing important information for players who are opted in or out of marketing. We are contacting you in response to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak in Great Britain, following the Prime Minister's press conference yesterday.

These are difficult times for all of us. However, we will continue to do all we can to support our community of players. We know that The Health Lottery's games bring a sense of hope and fun to people around Great Britain. We are thus determined, on your behalf, to continue our work without interruption.

Many of the good causes supported by funds raised through The Health Lottery work with both vulnerable and elderly communities. Our thoughts are with them in the work they are doing. That work has never been more important than it is today.

Please be assured that, in the event of any measures taken by the UK government, The Health Lottery has systems in place to ensure that our draws - as well as QuickWin and Scratch Card games - can continue operating as normal. All Health Lottery tickets you have purchased for future draws will remain valid. Players will also still be able to purchase tickets via our website.

The Health Lottery will continue to monitor the situation, and will respond in accordance with UK government guidelines.

We thank you for taking the time to read this email, and sincerely wish good health to all our players and their loved ones. Together, we will overcome this difficult period and our great country will stand tall.

Best wishes,
Martin Ellice
Group Joint Managing Director at The Health Lottery

Yes, I had one similar from the Midlands Air Ambulance this morning.

Tongue in cheek, but there's not a lot of point in winning the Lottery if you can't go out anywhere to spend it is there? Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Mine hasn't, fortunately.

Having give the lawns their first cut of the year, I was in need of some light refreshment and was delighted that mine were staying open, even more delighted to learn the news that the local village WI, who have their monthly dinner scheduled tonight, have confirmed by telephone this afternoon that they were damn well going, come what may!

Common sense is all that is required.....
