The Flying Dutchman (Dutch: De Vliegende Hollander) is a legendary ghost ship that can never make port and is doomed to sail the oceans forever.

About 90,000 stuck on ships due to Coronavirus! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Latest evidence suggests mitigation strategy won't work and suppression (lockdown) is best - but outcome of that not great either

Lockdown = Your party will be voted out at next election!

Mitigation = No voters left at next election! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I would see if I could book a demo petrol DS for a few hours and go and test drive that whilst yours is being serviced. Dealers will be desperate to sell cars knowing a lockdown is inevitable, and will most likely bend over backwards if they get the slightest hint that you have money to spend. Plus you will be pleasantly surprised with the overall experience of the car. Then go back and drink their coffee and eat their pastries Laughing

If it be cars, houses, etc ..... you have now, you are highly likely to have the same this time next year.

The only variables are wives and mistresses.

I, myself, will not be going on my single 6 month adventure this summer. I will stay in my barn .......... and count my money. Sad

After trying to understand latest advice, I would suggest that travelling to and from your MOT/service in your own car is safe.
Keep clear of crowded places while waiting for car, and take a few disinfectant wipes, to go round interior of car to make it your safe space again to return home.

I normally have book a courtesy car, and with a wipe down it should be another safe space.

My MOT/Service is in a few months time (possibly the virus peak), I will ring and ask garage (if above is not advisable) to arrange pick up from house. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

My MOT was due mid April, I chose to bring it forward by 6 weeks. I know that has compromised my anniversary date. But in the scheme of things ..... who cares !

Age UK spokesman on BBC this morning said you're OK to go out in the car - just avoid too much contact at the garage
