In today’s BilNorge.no webbsiden, it is announced in an article http://www.bilnorge.no/artikkel.php?aid=33751 that After 1st. January 2010, Volvo will no longer be responsible for importing Land Rover cars to Norway. The article states that it is not known at the present time who if any other company will take over as importer of Land Rover. It also states that it is expected that all Norwegian Volvo dealers will stop distribution /sale of Land Rover cars.

This is bad news for all Norwegian Land Rover owners, which may affect availability of quality servicing agents as well as readiness of spare parts etc.
The move is probably partially due to dwindling sales here, as the article states that in 2007, 732 new LR’s were sold in Norway, but only 365 in 2008 and only 39 so far this year which amounts to only 0.2 percent of the market sales.

The motoring press who continuously give negative remarks about the Freelander 2 compared to the opposition regardless of what it may be, must be partially to blame for poor sales if you ask me. In addition, lack of advertisement for Land Rover in Norway in general would also contribute to slumped sales.

A sad day, but I hope an alternative importer/distributor network will be found and as Jaguar may also be in the same situation maybe Tata have plans for a new network in Norway. 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
