So the workshop manual says, set mode to recirculation. Remove glovebox, CJB ...remove the recirculation housing and it should expose the blower motor. I have done all and now I am stuck at trying to remove that housing - the cage thing that holds the recirculation flap. I am at step 13 of the workshop manual. The green box on the pic is the housing that I have not been able to remove.

The workshop manuals says there are 3 torx screws that hold this thing in place. Some of the screws are work by feel and it is a nightmare in there. I have removed like 5 torx screws from that housing, I can feel it is somewhat loose but just does not come off. I am afraid to use too much force and snap the lever that control air flaps inside the housing.

Is there a special way to remove this housing? or have i been taking out the wrong torx screws? Any tips appreciated.

This must be one of the most hellish job just trying to change out a blower motor.

Yes, this job is a nightmare!! I did mine last winter. Cant remember I had any issues removing that housing, but mine was a LHD.
