Hello team, happy Sunday😎

I am looking for opinions, nothing binding or owt🤣 Do you think that this air filter was changed recently? As in the last 1000miles?

Thank you

Absolutely no way it has been changed, unless you carry out a service yourself or observe it being done only the lord God knows what gets done Censored buying a car with a fully stamped service book looks good but proves nothing Censored as the post above I wonder how many cam belts + water pumps do actually get replaced during that big service .

As above, not impossible but highly improbable.

You would think replacing something as simple as the filter to take someone off the scent would make sense....apparently not Rolling with laughter SD4 HSE Lux

Yes.
The upper left corner (especially if you look inside the "folds") is too clean to be an old filter...
Could we see the other, "clean", side?
If it looks the same, it could indicate a problem with your exhaust flow.

Thanks all, I am out and the car is at home. It was quite clean on the top though I must admit. SD4 HSE Lux

If that air filter was changed 1000 miles ago I would recommend you change your air filter every 250 miles or get the car seen to ASAP Whistle

In future mark the air filter and you will know if it's been done, same with oil filter etc etc Common sense isn't very common.

I seen the filters come out of my car. A lot of dust in them but they have never looked that dirty.

Maybe your filter was swapped with another used filter. You will have to have a look as soon as you get the car serviced.

After about 15,000km full of dust but the filter had absolutely zero dark grime as your filter has. I could have bashed it out & put it back in.

In my opinion (for what it's worth), there is no way that filter has only done 1000 miles.

Of course I just noticed you are in N Yorks, perhaps it's the atmospheric polution left over from all the mill chimneys! Rolling with laughter (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.
