So have you just painted the silver coloured "U" shaped grille surround that originally looked chrome?
Presumably this is not removable from the complete grill?
Sanded, plastic primed then painted?

Yes, all of the above, as previously mentioned, not an option to remove grill. Preparation is quite a lengthy process and masking out is fiddly. I am pleased with the end result and think it's worth the effort. One of the problems of being a, "Virgo", is being obsessed about the smallest imperfections.

Unfortunately not, all I can tell you is that it is an, Alfa Romeo, interior colour.

I used some high quality metal flake rustoleum from home depot on my faded grille and side vents and it looks like new!

I don't think it's important to match colour when you are doing a complete item. Just be happy with your choice.

Ok, tried to match the side vents with te dark atlas grey from the front grill and door handles.
Unfrtunatly the vw color is not the right one, of is to bleu-ish.... i'm now going to try the Orkney grey Lrc949 motip 51044. 'per aspera ad astra'

Atlas grey seems to be a bit of a, "Red Herring", and I found a, "Journey without Reward".
Best off with colour swatch book and match off that as I ended up doing.
