Non start (But dash lights up OK)

I am having trouble with a non start after parking for a couple of days, I put the key in the dock and press the start button, the dash lights all work, but the starter motor doesn't engage, I sometimes get the HDC error (although mostly not) and the car will always start on the second press of the button, I have replaced the starter as I thought it might be the solenoid but the problem remains, is this a common problem and how do I fix it, I am concerned that it might become more "intermittent" with time.

what about the battery? Is it old or new or flat? !

I sometimes get the HDC error if I have not been for a long run for a while, I always take it that its a sign the battery needs a boost 2017 SEAT Ateca 4drive 2.0 xcellence (May 2022 -

Well I charged the battery and installed a better battery to starter motor earth, so far it's behaving itself so fingers crossed that's fixed it, battery tested OK so I didn't replace it I just charged it.

Also do a search on here, regarding the fitting of an extra earth lead,
it could also cause a start issue.
a job that's very easy to do Thumbs Up
