If i put a new earth strap. from battery to a bolt somewhere can it be just a heavy duty bit of cable because the original earth has got some box on it. |

I Think i have found the problem. I got hold of an auto electrician. Because i took fuses out and replaced them he couldn't do anything until the problem reoccured, well it did two days later. He came round today. I sat in the passenger seat and he plugged the reader in,as he did that the dashboard died. It then fired back up. He then said about the bcm and the problems we have both read about with the plug that causes the same symptoms as i have. I was saying to him i can't work out why that problem was the same as the bcm is in a different part of the footwell when it went dead again. It was my foot on the wheelarch side of the footwell that is doing the plug or whatever it is there. I can now go to Land Rover and show them it doing it. Thank you to all that posted and hopefully this may well help someone else. The sparks think it may have started when the pollen filter was changed by a specialist a couple of years ago. |
