One of my 17” winter wheels has become porous. I need a sound replacement. Paint finish not so important but it needs to be sound with no bubbles or imperfections in the alloy casting. 17” Type 2 wheel as fitted to SE & XS models.

Oh Rog you are too kind! The only thing unsmooth about them is the ride. Noticeable difference between the 17’s and 19’s. I will upload a pic sometime. ....Found one!

LR did a similar move 20 years ago, with the Disco 2 Polar 16" alloy and old Freelander 1 and a 15" alloy.

I know what alloy you need, as you do ........... but I did this to stop people offering you the wrong wheel, so easily done. |

Why not just get the bad wheel refurbished? |

Not aware refurbishment will fix a porous alloy casting. I thought it was just chip repair and repaint?

What makes you think your wheel is porous?

This wheel is one of 4 that were refurbed 2 years ago. This wheel is the only one that has recently erupted with a case of “measles” or bubbles under the paint. It is also the only one losing pressure.
