Which Battery?

I'm going to have to fit a new battery soon. The Tanya website says I need a Varta E39 70Ah 760 A £126 plus delivery but from reading on here I see people have fitted a Varta F21 80 Ah CCA (EN) 800 A £150 plus delivery.
Do I really need the F21?

Put the largest battery in. I have 85ah 800cca. Amortised over 4 years it's not much money. There is a lot of electrics in these cars. Being stuck in the middle of nowhere costs a lot more. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Just fitted a Yuasa YBX5110 800cca 85Ah 5-Year warranty.

Cost me £87 from ebay brand new with discount code over Christmas.

Before installing the battery, the additional plastic strip either side of the battery must be removed,
otherwise the battery will be too wide to fit in the tray of a 2013 Freelander 2.

Thanks guys.
The F21 is physically bigger than the E39 so I better check that it will fit before ordering, but seeing as other people have it I guess that it will

Varta F19 works for me but I dont have Start/Stop in my SD4.
The F21 is for those of you with Start /Stop

They are both the same size 315x175x190 Jules

I fitted the Varta F21 80 Ah CCA (EN) 800 A today. It was a straight forward swap. The battery that came out had a Land Rover sticker on it so may be been the original, 9 years old.
Stop - Start now works for the first time in years, no HDC fault on starting and starts instantly

time for a new battery! let down today by not starting. I think battery is the original - Land Rover brand with Exide logo.

Varta F19 seems a favourite here ( mine is Auto so not stop / start ) . i notice F19 is longer and a bit taller than my current so will it fit in easily? F18 is less tall would that be better fit ? does Varta use the vent pipe?

checked my book and there seems to be no need to worry about a radio code ?

advice appreciated as nervous about a car with so many electrics! Confused FL2 SD4 XS 2013 Orkney Grey

I use the Varta F18 (the F19 fits just as easily), just fitted a new one. Yes, Varta do use a vent pipe, has a hole for it at both ends, one of the terminal covers will have a blanking plug for the unused hole. (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. I went with the F18 because it was what I fitted last time, also, if you compare the specs with the F19, they are the same, other than the dimensions . 85Ah & 800 CCA.

No radio code required for Freelander 2.

Only reset radio stations, clock & one touch window operation.

Unless of course you use a memory saver/power supply whilst swapping the battery out. (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.

Hey mate, where did you get your Varta battery?

Struggling to find anywhere in Australia with a Freelander compatible battery in stock, I don't know if that is the norm or if it is COVID shortage related? Building a Garage

Got it last month from Batteries Direct but I see they have no stock until August!

These guys say they have stock but the price is higher.

I got mine from Batteries Direct, a Varta Silver F19, plus a few other orders, charger & stuff for my solar.

All batteries are imported. Have noticed with various companies for any product there is a lot of stock shortage. Maybe a combination of cutting back on inventory & or difficulty in getting products imported. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
