Unfortunately my Son lost his Watch in the run up to Christmas. It was a Blue Omega Seamaster that we bought him for his 21st (15 years ago) somehow it came off his wrist without him noticing? No amount of searching and revisiting where he had been resulted in finding it. It was reported to the police and his home insurance company were contacted, they wanted proof of ownership which he had, original receipt, box, warranty registration card, service receipts and photos of him wearing it.

Yes, the new SMP's are very nice. They do a neoprene/rubber strap for those and despite the watch being thicker, the rubber strap makes them feel featherlight. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Lucky, lucky, lucky day for me today. I was over Westfield Stratford collecting a new pair of boots that had been changed under warranty and I popped in Waitrose to get a few bits - pasta and rice etc. Anyway, I paid for them at the self service checkout, put them in my backpack and went to leave. As I did, the security guard blocked my way and stopped me. "Look sir", he said and pointed to the checkout I was on. My bloody watch was on it!!! The pin had come out of the head and it had dropped off. Luckily just outside the store was the Omega boutique and they fitted it back together for me. It’s not my most expensive watch but it’s not exactly a cheapie either. Strap was new at Christmas and it’s a genuine Omega strap too with new spring bars. Excuse the poor quality picture.

Similar to what happened to me the other week. I was shopping at one of those community precinct places near Blackpool and went shopping for a few bits in Aldi.

Was the spring bar weak or broken? Did they check both drilling’s on the lugs for depth and a good edge?

Yeah, I think I did the same. I fitted the strap myself and because the strap was new, the spring bar was a tight fit in the strap eye and looking at it, I think it wasn’t centralised in the strap. It’s been in a good few months. Anyway, I’ve given it plenty of tugs in all directions and I can’t get it to come off so hopefully that should be it. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Nothing new in the watch world for me but my Seamaster was losing around 10 seconds a day which was well outside the specifications. The 3 year warranty was up in June so I gave them a call in May and they sent me a fully insured package including an Omega travel case and shell to send back to them. I just heard from them today - it’s all done. They carried out a full service on it and I have been told they also pressure test it. All under warranty which is handy as the service from them is £450 and the pressure test is another £105. Best of all, they gave me an extra 24 months warranty. That’s what I call great customer care. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
